New Delhi, July 18 (IANS). Department of Posts has launched ‘India Post Mascot Design Contest’ on Innovate India MyGov platform. Under this competition, citizens from across the country have been invited to design the official mascot of India Post. According to an official statement issued by the government on Saturday, a total of prizes worth Rs 2 lakh will be given in the mascot design and mascot naming categories together.
The Ministry of Communications said that the objective of this initiative is to create a unique brand ambassador who reflects the core values of India Post – Reliability, Trust, Inclusivity, Service and Digital Innovation.
The ministry said that this competition is open to all Indian citizens. Participants are required to submit an original mascot design, a suitable name and a brief concept note through the MyGov platform. Entries for the contest will be accepted from July 15 to August 15.
To encourage creative participation, the government has announced cash prizes of Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively for the participants standing first, second and third in the mascot design category.
Apart from this, cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 will be given for first, second and third place in the mascot naming category respectively. In this way, a total prize money of Rs 2 lakh will be distributed across both the categories.
Certificates will also be given to all the winners. Awards for mascot design and mascot naming will be given separately.
The selected mascot will be made the official brand ambassador of India Post and will be used in promotional campaigns, philatelic products, public awareness programs, exhibitions, social media platforms and other official communication mediums.
The government has appealed to students, designers, artists and other creative professionals across the country to participate in this competition and contribute in creating the future visual identity of India Post.
This competition has been organized at a time when India Post continues to strengthen its financial performance. Recently, the Postal Department crossed the turnover mark of Rs 4,000 crore for the first time in the first quarter of any financial year. In the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27, the department recorded the highest ever first quarter revenue of Rs 4,008.95 crore.
