New Delhi, May 26 (IANS). 12 Fab and Packaging Projects and 24 Semiconductors Projects have been approved under Semicon India Program and now India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) has launched the Investor Portal. Its objective is to increase investor confidence and address concerns. This information was given in a statement issued by the government on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Electronics and IT said that ISM’s Investor Portal will provide information on government schemes, policies, regulatory requirements and projects approved under Semicon India for investors considering semiconductor investment in India.
The ministry said that concerned parties will get a secure, role-based, single-window digital interface for streamlined coordination and timely resolution of concerns.
Through this, the government is trying to increase the ease of doing business.
This portal will enable investors to register their complaints or concerns, which will be resolved by India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) officials in collaboration with nodal officers from concerned ministries, departments, organizations, state governments, approved project companies and international and national trade bodies/associations.
ISM CEO Amitesh Kumar Sinha said that it is very important to provide guidance and facilities to foreign investors.
He urged the representatives of all concerned stakeholders to actively play their respective roles in addressing the concerns of investors to strengthen the semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem in the country.
The concerned parties will get a secure, role-based, single-window digital interface for streamlined coordination and resolution of concerns in a timely manner.
The launch program also detailed the portal’s framework, functionalities, onboarding process, coordination mechanism and roles and responsibilities of nodal officers of participating ministries, departments, organizations, state governments, approved project companies, international and national trade bodies or associations.
The Government is making concerted efforts to develop a strong, reliable and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem in the country through various strategic initiatives and policy interventions.
