Bengaluru, November 3 (IANS). Hannah Sturgeon, Executive Director of the Nobel Foundation, said on Monday that today has become a great example of how we can come together, talk and learn from each other by sharing the mutual knowledge necessary for the future.
Speaking to news agency IANS on the sidelines of the Nobel Prize Dialogue at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Sturgeon said the ‘enthusiasm and curiosity’ shown by Indian students and researchers reflects India’s deep commitment to learning and collaboration.
“When we organize such meetings we bring together many award winners on one platform. All these award winners come here to interact and answer questions,” he said.
“Events like this provide a medium for exchange of ideas between students, the public and the award winners. It becomes an important opportunity where everyone gets to learn from each other,” Sturgeon told IANS.
Praising the success of the Bengaluru session, he said that there were so many questions in today’s session that we could have continued the discussion for more time.
Expressing curiosity, he said that I am ready to listen to the questions asked by the audience in Mumbai tomorrow.
“I’m very much looking forward to hearing the questions the audience in Mumbai asks tomorrow,” Sturgeon said.
He also appreciated the cooperation that made the event possible and described it as a great partnership which is working very well.
The Nobel Prize Dialogue was held at IISc Bengaluru from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. The theme of this event was ‘The Future We Want’. As a double event, it is being organized in Bengaluru and then in Mumbai.
The Dialogue brings together Nobel Prize winners with renowned thinkers and provides an opportunity to dialogue on important ideas and challenges for all. The dialogues in India will focus on how to create a world that is inclusive, sustainable and innovative by investing in knowledge, creativity and youth.
