New Delhi, December 12 (IANS). Meta India made a big announcement on Friday and appointed Aman Jain as the new Head of Public Policy. He will take up his role early next year and will report directly to Simon Milner, Meta’s vice president of policy for the Asia-Pacific region.
Along with this, Jain will also be a part of the leadership team of Meta India.
“Jain will join the company early next year and will report to Simon Milner, Vice President, Asia Pacific (APEC) Region. He will also join the India leadership team,” Meta said in a statement.
Aman Jain has more than 20 years of experience in public policy and business strategy. He has worked with big companies like Amazon and Google. He has also been associated with the Government of India and international organizations.
He held many senior positions in Google India, including Country Head for Government Affairs and Public Policy.
Most recently, he was Director of Public Policy at Amazon, where he worked on issues such as marketplace, technology, and competition.
Simon Milner, Vice President of Meta, said that India is a very important market for Meta, especially as India’s digital economy is growing rapidly with AI, new technologies and the creator economy.
He said that Meta wants to help build a secure, reliable and useful internet for all in India.
Simon Milner further said that he is delighted to work with Aman Jain and believes that Aman’s experience in technology and public policy will be of great benefit to META. He will also become an important part of META’s policy team in the APEC region.
Meta is a social media giant and runs platforms like Facebook, Instagram in India and the world.
