Washington, April 11 (IANS). NASA’s Artemis. The mission has been successfully completed. All the astronauts involved in this mission landed safely in the sea through the Orion spacecraft after completing a historic journey of 10 days. The mission consisted of four astronauts – Reed Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen.

This historic return took place in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego. After entering the Earth’s atmosphere the capsule landed safely in the ocean through a parachute system. After this the recovery team immediately reached the spot. After a long process, the astronauts were safely taken out of the capsule. From here the army helicopter arrived to pick them up.

“All four astronauts from the Artemis II mission have successfully ejected from the Orion spacecraft and are now aboard the USS John P. Murtha. They will then be taken to the medical bay where they will undergo a post-mission medical examination. On the deck of the USS John P. Murtha, Christina and Victor had big smiles on their faces as they waited to be taken for routine post-mission medical examinations,” NASA wrote on XPost.

NASA astronaut Chris Williams also posted on social media about Orion’s return to Earth. He wrote, “Our crew aboard the space station watched the NASA Artemis Mission II crew enter the Earth’s atmosphere as they returned from a trip to the Moon! The first thing we saw was a bright light and a streak as the module lit up. We didn’t see the Orion capsule enter directly, but we did see the faint trail it left in the upper part of the atmosphere. We were extremely pleased to see our colleagues return safely to Earth after such an amazing mission!”

Before returning to Earth, NASA had informed that after completing a long journey of about 6 lakh 90 thousand miles, this team is getting closer to the Earth.

This mission has become a topic of discussion around the world, because after more than five decades man has stepped beyond low Earth orbit into deep space. According to NASA, this journey marked the furthest distance astronauts have ever traveled, paving the way for future lunar missions.
