New Delhi, December 13 (IANS). Nifty50 and Nifty Midcap150 indices have had the best performance in November and both the indices have given returns of 1.87 per cent and 1.59 per cent respectively during this period. This information was given in a report released on Saturday.
The report of Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund said that Nifty50 has given returns of 7.27 percent in the period of 3 months, 5.87 percent in the period of 6 months and 8.59 percent in the last one year.
At the same time, the return of Nifty Midcap 150 index was 7.93 percent in the period of 3 months, 6.01 percent in the period of 6 months and 7.12 percent in the period of one year.
The performance of the broader market has also been positive during this period. Nifty 500 index has given a return of 0.94 percent last month. During this period, largecap and midcap stocks have given returns of 1-2 percent, while smallcap stocks have increased by 1-3 percent.
However, the performance of Nifty Smallcap index has been mixed. Last month has given a negative return of 3.36 percent and in the last 3 months it has registered a gain of 1.37 percent.
The report said that the performance of Nifty Next 50 index has also been mixed and during this period the index has given a negative return of 0.98 percent. However, the index has given a return of 5.16 percent in the last 3 months, 3.56 percent in the six months and -2.25 percent in the one year period.
On a sectoral basis, the performance of the IT sector has been the strongest in November. During this period, the sector has given a return of 4.74 percent, while Auto has given a return of 3.60 percent, Bank has given a return of 3.42 percent and Healthcare has given a return of 2.30 percent.
The defense sector delivered the best annual returns with an impressive return of 19.43 per cent and emerged as the best performing segment in the one-year period.
A good growth of 18.85 percent was recorded in the auto sector, a good growth of 14.79 percent was also seen in the banking sector and a strong growth of 13.94 percent was also recorded in the metal sector. The healthcare sector has grown by 6.40 percent.
On the other hand, the real estate sector declined by 4.69 percent in November and further by 11.47 percent in the last one year.
