New Delhi. Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI is being used a lot these days. AI is proving helpful in many areas including coding and getting answers to difficult questions, but now a big danger of AI has also come to the fore. OpenAI, the company making AI tool ChatGPT, has said in its report that some Chinese agents were preparing for large-scale surveillance of social media by using its tool. As soon as OpenAI became aware of this, it closed all the accounts of Chinese agents. However, this incident has created a danger that no one’s privacy in the world is safe!

The special thing is that OpenAI’s ChatGPT tool is not available in China. Apparently Chinese agents were accessing it through VPN network. OpenAI has said in the report that it has also banned some Russian hackers. Russian hackers have been accused by OpenAI of developing malware, trojans and password stealing tools. OpenAI says that one of the Chinese agents was creating an AI tool with the help of ChatGPT, which would listen to social media for the government there. With this tool, X, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc. are scanned. Extremist, religious and political content was to be identified through this tool created by a Chinese agent.

OpenAI’s report states that another account linked to a Chinese government organization was getting project reports made from ChapGPT. It was supposed to keep an eye on the travels of Uyghur Muslims in China by analyzing transportation related bookings and police records. OpenAI has said in the report that the Chinese government is rapidly expanding its authoritarian strategy through AI. Many activities were related to online and offline tracking. It is clear from this that we have to be cautious. OpenAI says that since February 2024, the company has reported and disrupted more than 40 networks that violate the usage policy. Much of the danger comes from incorporating AI into existing systems.
