New Delhi, July 18 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated the team of private space company Skyroot Aerospace on the successful launch of Vikram-1 rocket. The Prime Minister shared a video on his official Instagram account, in which he interacted with the entire Skyroot team and lauded this historic achievement.
Prime Minister Modi said during the congratulatory call, “Skyroot has made a new beginning in the space sector. The company has not only opened doors to new opportunities in the sky, but has also created a strong foundation on earth, which will inspire the youth of the country to move forward in the field of science and technology.”
Praising the young team of Skyroot, PM Modi said, “I am happy to see that most of the team members are young people aged between 25 to 30 years. Initially, concern about the mission was visible on the faces of the team, but after the success, the same atmosphere changed into happiness and excitement.”
Describing the Vikram-1 mission as a proud moment for the country, the Prime Minister said, “It is not just a space mission, but a symbol of India’s capability and the energy of the new generation.” He told that he sees this mission as a kind of ‘Vande Mataram Mission’, which will work to take the dignity of Mother India to new heights and connect the youth with technology.
He said, “There was a time when some people used to make fun of ‘self-reliant India’, but today Indian companies like Skyroot have proved their capability. This success is proof that India is moving rapidly towards becoming self-reliant even in a cutting-edge field like space.”
He gave a message to the Skyroot team to keep moving forward and said that the government and the country stand with their efforts. Such achievements create new hope and confidence in the youth of India.
Skyroot Aerospace co-founder Pawan Chandana and the company’s team were also present during the call. Pawan Chandana termed his conversation with the Prime Minister as a privilege and said that the card sent by him successfully reached space. He said that the Prime Minister had written ‘Vande Mataram’ on the card, hence the orbit of the mission was also linked to the same sentiment.
Pawan Chandana said that the entire team and India are proud of the initiative to start the country’s private space program. He said that Skyroot has become the first Indian private company to achieve the historic feat of sending a rocket to orbit in its very first attempt. He described it as a complete success of Indian design and Indian talent.
