New Delhi, February 21 (IANS). India AI Impact Summit 2026 concludes with new manifesto. 88 countries and international organizations signed it. This consensus has become a symbol of global cooperation on Artificial Intelligence.
Guided by the principle of “Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaay” (welfare for all, happiness of all), the declaration underlines that the benefits of AI will be in human interest, i.e. it will be people-centric.
It emphasizes advancing AI through international cooperation, respecting national sovereignty, and accessible-trusted frameworks.
The Declaration is built around seven key pillars, which form the foundation of global AI cooperation.
These are—democratization of AI resources; economic growth and social well-being; Secure and trusted AI; AI for science; access to social empowerment; human capital development; and solid, efficient and innovative AI systems.
The announcement emphasizes the role of AI in driving economic transformation, the importance of open-source and accessible AI ecosystems, the need for energy-efficient AI infrastructure, enhancing the role of AI in science, governance and public service delivery, and strengthening global cooperation.
“To realize AI and its full potential, robust digital infrastructure and connectivity at affordable rates are essential,” it said.
Inspired by the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family), “We recognize the importance of increasing affordability and access to AI resources, which is essential for all countries to help their citizens develop, adopt and use AI.”
The Charter has not been advocated for being imposed forcefully on anyone. It further reads, “We see the Charter for Democratic Diffusion of AI as a voluntary and non-binding framework to promote basic AI resource access, support locally needed innovation, and foster robust AI ecosystems while respecting national laws.”
It also mentions the target that is expected. It was said that our aim is to ensure access to this advanced technology and its economic benefits to every section of the society across the world.
It added, “We believe that removing structural barriers to AI research infrastructure and increasing its availability can accelerate the use of AI in scientific research and development across countries. International scientific collaboration can unlock the potential of AI in research and development by bringing together specialized expertise, perspectives and resources.”
