New Delhi, January 25 (IANS). The government said on Sunday that Asia’s largest civil aviation event ‘Wings India 2026’ is going to prove to be an important event for the world’s aviation sector due to its large scale, global participation and special strategic focus.
This program will be organized from 28 to 31 January at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad, which will be formally inaugurated by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. Many senior officials and guests from India and abroad will be present on this occasion.
The event will have over 150 exhibitors, over 7,500 business visitors, 1 lakh general visitors, over 200 foreign delegates, over 500 Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Government (B2G) meetings. Along with this, more than 31 aircraft will also be displayed. According to the government, this event will be historic not only for India but for the aviation sector of the entire world.
The ministry said that the launch of this program will mark the beginning of a major global aviation conference, in which India will be shown as a major hub of connectivity, aircraft manufacturing, services, innovation and environment-friendly technologies.
‘Wings India 2026’ will showcase how India’s aviation sector is playing a vital role in driving economic growth, regional development and global connectivity.
India’s civil aviation sector has witnessed rapid and unprecedented growth in the last 10 years.
Passenger numbers have increased manifold, making India one of the largest aviation markets in the world. Indian airlines have added hundreds of new aircraft to their fleet and placed aircraft orders at record levels, putting India on track to become the largest aircraft market in the future.
According to the ministry, the airport infrastructure has also expanded rapidly. Regional connectivity has been strengthened through new greenfield airports, modern terminals and government schemes like UDAN scheme. Along with this, India is also progressing rapidly in the fields of aircraft repair (MRO), pilot training, aerospace manufacturing, cargo logistics and modern air mobility.
The government said that steps like Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), green airports and digital air navigation are reshaping the future of aviation.
‘Wings India 2026’ will bring together policymakers, CEOs of large global companies, investors, innovators, airlines, airports, aircraft manufacturing companies (OEMs), MRO companies, technology providers, training institutes and startups, making it one of the most comprehensive aviation platforms in the world.
Participation of many big global and Indian companies like Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, HAL, Dassault, Bell Textron, ATR, Pilatus, de Havilland, Rolls-Royce has been finalized in this program.
Apart from this, Air India, IndiGo, Akasa Air, Etihad Airways, Thai Airways, GMR, Adani Group and Noida International Airport will also be part of this program.
The ministry said that top executives (CEOs) of the world’s major airlines, airports and aircraft manufacturing companies will also participate in it, which shows that India’s important role in global aviation is continuously increasing.
