Mumbai, April 6 (IANS). Tesla on Monday launched India’s first in-mall electric vehicle charging station at Nexus Seawoods Mall in Navi Mumbai.
Located in the B1 parking area of the mall, the new charging station has a total of eight chargers, including four V4 Superchargers that provide fast DC charging at speeds of up to 250 kW and four destination chargers that provide AC charging at 11 kW.
The setup is designed to meet the diverse charging needs of Tesla users, offering both fast charging and long-lasting charging options.
With this new feature, Tesla is further strengthening its presence in India’s growing electric mobility ecosystem.
The company said it is focusing on locations where customers typically spend time, such as malls and highway stops, to allow users to easily charge their vehicles while going about their daily activities.
Tesla said its Supercharger technology gives the Tesla Model Y a range of up to 275 km in just 15 minutes, making intercity travel more practical.
The charging feature is integrated with the Tesla mobile app, allowing users to easily locate charging stations, charge and pay.
The Navi Mumbai station is Tesla’s fourth charging center in India. The company already operates charging facilities in Gurugram, Delhi and Mumbai, and with this new centre, its network now includes 20 Superchargers and 14 destination chargers across major cities.
Along with the charging station, Tesla has also set up a pop-up store in the main atrium of the mall.
This pop-up store offers visitors the opportunity to get to know Tesla vehicles through test drives and interactive product demonstrations.
Tesla said this expansion reflects its commitment to building a reliable and accessible charging network in India, which will drive widespread adoption of electric vehicles.
Tesla’s Model Y is available for sale in India, with prices starting at Rs 59.89 lakh.
