New Delhi, April 25 (IANS). The Central Government has prepared ‘a comprehensive system’ to provide support and guidance to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and other weaker sections right from childhood. Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh said this on Saturday. He said that the aim of the government is to enable these sections to move forward by supporting them from the initial level.

Speaking during the launch of Jammu and Kashmir chapter of Dr. Ambedkar Chamber of Commerce at Jammu University, the Minister said that the time has come that the deprived sections of the society should not depend only on government jobs but should also move forward in the field of entrepreneurship and investment. He appealed to the people to start their own businesses by taking advantage of the schemes being run under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr. Singh said that the government has prepared a system for the weaker sections, in which they get guidance and support right from childhood. He also informed that many major schemes of the government have been started keeping in mind social and economic development.

Referring to the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, he said that this scheme has taken banking facilities to the common people. At the same time, through Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, small businessmen are easily getting loans, due to which they are able to start their business. Apart from this, the objective of PM Vishwakarma Yojana is to provide permanent employment to the people while preserving traditional skills.

The minister said that the positive effects of these schemes are now visible. According to statistics, the economic condition of people belonging to Dalits and other weaker sections has improved and their desire to move forward has also increased.

He further said that now even people coming from ordinary backgrounds are performing well in competitive examinations like civil services, which shows the increasing empowerment in the society.

Dr. Singh said that the government wants to further expand the scope of these schemes, so that more and more people can take advantage of them and participate in the development of the country.
