New Delhi, May 20 (IANS). Artificial Intelligence (AI)-related job postings in India have increased almost six times compared to 2019. India is rapidly emerging as a global AI talent and AI implementation hub, according to a report by strategy consulting firm RedSeer Strategy Consultants released on Wednesday.
This report says that India’s office market will see a big change due to the increase in AI-based recruitment. The demand for flexible workspace is also expected to see strong growth in the coming years.
The report titled ‘AI and the Future of Flexible Workspaces’ said India’s knowledge-economy office space could generate additional demand for around 79 million square feet between 2025 and 2030. This demand will be even greater than the growth estimated before AI.
“Till now the discussion around AI was mainly limited to the impact on employment, but on the ground, we are seeing a major structural change in the way office space is used,” said Chhavi Singh, associate partner, Redseer Strategy Consultants.
“AI-based teams are now more specialized, collaboration-based and fast-paced. This is driving demand for a ‘core plus flex’ workplace model, where companies want better infrastructure and flexibility without compromising on employee experience,” he said.
According to the report, AI related job postings in India are expected to cross 2.9 lakh by 2025. The main reason for this is the increasing demand for talent in areas like Machine Learning, Generative AI and ML Ops.
The report said that India has now reached second position in the world in terms of AI talent concentration growth. Behind this is the increasing investment in AI globally, which has reached approximately $582 billion.
The report also said that India has already converted technological changes into opportunities for employment and economic growth.
India’s office space is set to grow to around 915 million square feet by 2025, while the total employment count is set to reach around 330 million workers.
The study also highlights the rapid expansion in India’s flexible workspace sector. While its size in 2020 was around 33 million square feet, by 2025 it has increased to more than 103 million square feet.
About 82 percent of the companies surveyed said that they plan to increase the use of flexible workspace in the next two years.
The report said that AI-based recruitment alone is expected to contribute about 31 percent of the total demand for flex seat leasing by 2030.
