New Delhi, November 11 (IANS). Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday said the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) is accelerating the clean energy transition in India, boosting employment, attracting investments and establishing India as a global hub of green hydrogen.

Union Minister Joshi launched the official logo of (NGHM) at the 3rd International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2025). Apart from this, he also announced proposal invitation of Rs 100 crore for pilot projects for development of innovative technology aimed at green hydrogen production from biomass and waste materials.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Joshi said that the new NGHM logo has been selected from over 2,500 entries received from across the country, reflecting creativity combined with public participation in India’s green journey and the collective spirit that drives the mission.

Union Minister Joshi said, “NGHM, launched in 2023 with an outlay of Rs 19,744 crore, is not only a national program but also a global solution to decarbonize hard-to-reach areas.”

Giving information, he said that incentives of 3,000 MW per year have been provided for domestic electrolyzer manufacturing and 8.62 lakh metric tons per year for green hydrogen production. With this, India is now recording the lowest green ammonia price in the world at Rs 49.75 per kg for the production of 7.24 lakh metric tonnes per year.

The Union Minister said Rs 132 crore has been invested in five pilot projects for green steel, Rs 208 crore has been sanctioned for 37 hydrogen-fuelled vehicles and nine refueling stations.

According to Union Minister Joshi, the country is working to drive complete green hydrogen production through renewable energy.

He informed that 43 skill qualifications related to hydrogen have been approved, more than 6,300 trainees have been certified.
