Hyderabad, July 18 (IANS). Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and President of YSR Congress Party Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday congratulated Hyderabad-based company Skyroot Aerospace on the successful launch of the country’s first privately developed rocket ‘Vikram-1’.
He described it as a major achievement and important step for India’s space sector.

He said, “This is an important achievement for India’s space sector. I wish the entire team every success. Their efforts will usher in a new era of innovation and technological excellence in the country.”
With the successful launch of Vikram-1, India has created a new history in its space journey. With this, India has become the third country in the world after America and China, which has a private company capable of sending rockets into orbit.
This important mission took off from the first launch site of Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. This is considered a major achievement for India’s rapidly growing private space sector.
Skyroot Aerospace wrote on social media platform
The four-stage ‘Vikram-1’ launch vehicle, named after the father of India’s space programme, Dr Vikram Sarabhai, has been designed to rapidly send small satellites into space as per the need.
This mission is expected to strengthen India’s position in the global commercial launch market. With this successful launch, India has become one of the few countries where private companies have proven the capability of orbital launch.
