WhatsApp has now introduced a new premium experience for its users. The company has launched a new subscription service called “WhatsApp Plus” for select iPhone users. Under this new plan, users will get access to features like custom themes, new icons, unique ringtones and more chat pinning. However, for now, the feature is limited to a select group of iPhone users, and the general public may have to wait a while before it becomes available. According to reports, this service is expected to be extended to more users in the coming weeks.
What makes WhatsApp Plus unique?
WhatsApp Plus is specially designed for users who like to customize the look and feel of their app. This new premium subscription gives users 18 new accent colors to replace WhatsApp’s traditional green theme. Additionally, 14 different app icons will also be provided, with designs ranging from simple to decorative styles. Users will also get support for premium sticker packs and animated overlay effects. With this feature, the company aims to make WhatsApp more personalized and stylish than ever before, giving users a new visual experience.
Chat management and features
WhatsApp Plus isn’t just about design aesthetics; It also includes many practical features. While normal users can usually pin only three chats, WhatsApp Plus subscribers will be able to pin up to 20 chats simultaneously. The service also includes a “bulk control” feature, allowing users to apply the same theme, message alert tone, and call ringtone to multiple chats at once. Subscribers will also get access to 10 exclusive ringtones with names like Flutter, Tempo, Ripple, Quest, Drum and Carnival. The company aims to give users more control and better customization options.
Price and availability
According to reports, the price of WhatsApp Plus may vary from country to country. In Europe, this subscription is said to be priced at €2.49 per month—equivalent to approximately ₹279. At the same time, its price in Pakistan has been kept at 229 Pakistani rupees – i.e. approximately Rs 77 – per month. In some countries, users may also be entitled to a free trial for one week or one month. Currently, this feature is visible only to select iPhone users. Currently this subscription will not be available for WhatsApp Business users. Hopefully, in the coming weeks, the company will gradually expand it to more users.
