An Air Asia flight from Bangalore to Kolkata made an emergency landing at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on Sunday when a passenger suddenly fell ill in mid-air.
An official of the Airport Authority of India gave this information. The passenger, a resident of West Bengal’s Medinipur district, was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, the official said.
According to the official, 28-year-old passenger Habibur Khan was traveling on flight number 2472. He said that the cause of Khan’s death is yet to be ascertained. However, it is not yet known what was the reason behind the passenger becoming ill.
