Celebrities who received Padma awards on Monday at Rashtrapati Bhavan today reached the National War Memorial and paid tribute to the martyrs. This was the first time in the history of the country, when the Padma awardees reached the National War Memorial in this way together. This visit was organized by the Central Government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. A statement issued by the Home Ministry said, “Padma awardees have appreciated this effort of the government and said that it will inspire people to come to the memorial.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also made a big change in the process of selection of Padma awards and real heroes are getting their due. The aim of the government is that those people should get recognition, those people who are engaged in the service of the country without any selfishness. Not only this, the ministry said that this time it had received a total of 4.80 lakh nominations for Padma awards.

Regarding the increase in the number of enrollments, the government said that it has increased due to the use of technology. Now people can apply online only and due to this there has been a big increase in the number. The ministry said that now people’s Padmas are being elected. Self nomination, online nomination is happening. We then selected a large number of heroes who were little talked about. Significantly, for the year 2022, President Ram Nath Kovind presented 54 Padma Awards on Monday. Of these, two Padma Vibhushan, 8 Padma Bhushan and 54 Padma Shri were awarded.
