The clouds of crisis are hovering over the Imran Khan government of Pakistan. The opposition is united against cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and is very close to ousting him from power. Now the question arises that if Imran Khan government falls, who will be the next Prime Minister of Pakistan?
That is, after the removal of Imran Khan, who will become the next Prime Minister of Pakistan. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced the name of the next Pakistani PM.
Opposition leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Wednesday that Imran Khan has “lost majority” in the National Assembly and that the leader of the opposition shahbaz sharif Will soon become the Prime Minister of the country.
Addressing a press conference ahead of the trust vote to be held in the next few days, Bilawal Bhutto thanked the Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P). Imran Khan’s PTI’s ally Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan has left him and joined hands with the opposition and has decided to vote against Imran Khan.
Bilawal said the voting should be held on Thursday. Bilawal Bhutto said, “Imran Khan has lost his majority now. He is no longer the prime minister. Parliament is in session tomorrow. Let’s vote tomorrow and resolve this matter. Only then will we go on the journey of transparent elections and restoration of democracy.” And we can start work on ending the economic crisis.
“The working relationship of PPP and MQM-P has nothing to do with the no-confidence motion. Both sides have to work together for the development of Karachi and Pakistan,” he said. The PPP president said that Shahbaz Sharif has challenged the Prime Minister of Pakistan to resign from the post. “He (Imran Khan) is left with no option. He can either resign or be dismissed through no-confidence,” Bilawal Bhutto said.
Who is Shahbaz Sharif?
Bilawal Bhutto said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s brother Shahbaz Sharif would “soon” become the country’s prime minister. Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is old Pakistani leader. He is currently the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Pakistan since 20 August 2018. Apart from this he is the current President of Pakistan Muslim League-N.
Prior to this, he has served as the Chief Minister of Punjab thrice in his political career, making him the longest serving Chief Minister of Punjab. Shahbaz was elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly in 1988 and to the National Assembly in 1990.
In 2018 he was named as the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-N after his brother Nawaz Sharif was disqualified from the post. He was nominated as the Leader of the Opposition after the 2018 election. Since then he has been the Leader of the Opposition.
