Let us tell you that the price of sugar has increased from Rs 37.50-38 to Rs 40 per kg. Citing the reason behind the hike in prices, trade sources said the central government had announced a sugar quota of 3 lakh tonnes last month. Sugar prices are increasing due to lower quota of one lakh tonne compared to last month. On the other hand, the demand for sugar has increased in industries across the country, including hotels, after the reduction of sugar quota and the corona epidemic, which has also led to a rise in prices. The demand for sugar is likely to increase in the coming seventh-eighth festivals and the prices are likely to increase further. The prices of commodities have increased one after the other during the festive season.
