For the first time in its history due to the Corona epidemic, Revley, which was closed for some time, still has not returned to its old revenue. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information in Parliament on Friday. He said that the total passenger revenue in the year 2020-21 is less as compared to the pre-Covid period (2019-20) due to the challenges arising due to COVID-19.
During this, Railway Minister Aschini Vaishnav said in Parliament that the cost of giving concessions to passengers is heavy on the Railways, so it is not desirable at present to increase the scope of concessions to all categories of passengers.
He gave this information in a written reply to a question. He said that in view of the global pandemic and the COVID Guidelines (Protocol), Indian Railways has continued the concession for only four categories of persons with disabilities, 11 categories of patients and students with effect from March 20, 2020.
He said that since the cost of granting concessions is heavy on the Railways, it is not desirable at present to extend the scope of concessions to all categories of passengers. He said that catering facilities in various trains including Rajdhani, Duronto and AC trains have been restored in a phased manner with effect from 19 November 2021.
He said that in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, action has been initiated to provide linens and curtains inside the vehicles.
