Ukraine is facing great devastation in the Russian attack. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday that eight Russian-launched rockets destroyed Vinistia Airport in central Ukraine. Jalensky urged Western countries to declare a no-fly zone over Ukraine. He said that the world has the power to close our airspace to Russian rockets and planes.
The President of Ukraine further said that more aircraft are needed to make the skies of Ukraine safe. Vinistia Airport is located about 7.5 kilometers east of the railway station of the city of Vinistia and 1 kilometer south-west of the village of Gavryshevka. In a way, it is located in the center of Ukraine. Due to which it is a convenient means of transportation for both domestic and foreign travelers and cargo.
The airport was established in the early 50s. For more than half a century it served as an important transport system of Ukraine. Zelensky condemned NATO’s decision not to impose a no-fly zone on Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict with Russia.
In a video message, Zelensky quoted Russia’s Sputnik as saying, “There was a summit of NATO today. It was a weak summit, a confused summit, a summit that shows that not everyone sees the fight for independence in Europe as the first goal.’
