People are getting impatient about the results of about a dozen VIP seats of Gorakhpur-Basti division. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is the BJP candidate from Gorakhpur city seat, discussions were going on at the intersections on Wednesday regarding the difference between victory and defeat. After Gorakhpur, the most discussed seat is Fazilnagar, from where Swami Prasad Maurya is in the fray from SP. Apart from these two seats, state government ministers are in the fray from Etawa, Bansi, Pathardeva and Rudrapur, while Congress national spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh is contesting from Rudrapur, Congress state president Ajay Kumar Lallu from Tamkuhiraj.
In the 2017 assembly elections, the saffron flag was waved in the Gorakhpur-Basti division. With the help of Modi wave, BJP had won 35 out of 41 seats in both the mandals, while one seat went to BJP’s ally Apna Dal (S) and one seat to SubhaSP. This time the alliance of Subhasp is with SP while Nishad Party is involved in BJP alliance. Nishad Party is contesting on four seats while Apna Dal (S) is again contesting on Shohratgarh seat of Siddharthnagar.
Eye on Swami Prasad Maurya in Fazilnagar

Lallu’s height will be decided by Tamkuhiraj

From here the alliance of BJP and Nishad Party has fielded the joint candidate Dr. Asim Kumar. On the other hand, Uday Narayan Gupta has been nominated for Samajwadi Party while BSP has fielded Sanjay Gupta. Congress state president is MLA from here for the second time. If you win, you will make a hat-trick, but the road is not easy. This result will also be important in deciding the direction of Lallu’s political journey.
The battle of veterans is on Etawa seat
In Etawah of Siddharthnagar, Basic Education Minister Dr. Satish Dwivedi is in the fray from BJP and Mata Prasad Pandey, former Vis President from SP.
