Land is being allotted for the Akharas in the Mahakumbh Mela.
Prayagraj: The work of allotment of land for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 to be held on the sands of Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh is underway and it will be completed today. Under this process, first land will be given to Akharas, after which land will be allotted to other religious and social institutions. All preparations are in full swing for the Mahakumbh Mela to be held from 14 January 2025 to 26 February 2025. Officials say that in the process of land allotment, care is being taken that under no circumstances should the Akharas get less land than the previous Kumbh.
Land allotment work for Akharas
Additional Fair Officer Vivek Chaturvedi said that the land allotment work is being done as per the traditional process. For this, this process is being completed by reaching a consensus with Prayagraj Fair Authority, Akhara Parishad and representatives of all the Akharas. Chaturvedi also said that this time under no circumstances will the Akharas be given less land than the previous Kumbh.
Official Process and Deadlines
The land allotment process is expected to be completed today. During this time, officials of the fair authority are finalizing the process by holding separate meetings with the Akhara Parishad and representatives of the Akharas. Chaturvedi said that as per tradition, land will be allotted to Akharas first, after which land will be given to other institutions.
Land was also given to the Shankaracharyas and Dandi Swamis of the four Peethas.
Additional Mela Adhikari also informed that the Shankaracharyas and Dandi Swamis of the four Peethas will also be allotted land as per tradition, so that they can also set up camps for their devotees during the Mahakumbh. Mahakumbh Mela 2025 will end on Mahashivratri
The Maha Kumbh Mela will start on 14 January 2025 on the occasion of Makar Sankranti and will end on 26 February 2025 on the day of Mahashivratri.
