Iran Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has released its latest report on 8 March 2026. It has been told that due to American and Israeli attacks there has been huge devastation in Iran. According to reports, around 9,669 civilian units have been completely or partially destroyed so far. IRCS chief Pir-Hossein Kolivand has confirmed that homes, shops and hospitals of common people have been the direct targets of these attacks. This struggle started on 28 February and now its impact is becoming deeper on the lives of common people.

Where has the most damage been caused?
According to IRCS data, most of the damage in the attacks has occurred in residential areas. The survey conducted at the ground level has revealed that thousands of people have become homeless. Regarding the attacks on hospitals and schools, the Red Crescent has called it a violation of the Geneva Convention. Heavy damage was also reported at oil depots south of Tehran and Isfahan Airport.

Residential houses: 7,943 houses were completely damaged or destroyed. Business centres: 1,617 shops and service centers have been destroyed. Hospitals: 32 medical centers have been attacked, including Tehran’s Motahhari and Gandhi Hospitals. Schools: 65 educational institutions have been damaged. Relief operations: 15 Red Crescent ambulances and relief vehicles have been destroyed in the attacks.
Death toll and rising inflation
Iran’s Health Ministry has informed that a total of 1,230 people have died since February 28. The sad thing about this is that those who died included 200 children and 200 women. The attacks are affecting not only life and property but also people’s wallets. Oil supply across the world has been disrupted due to the blockage in the Strait of Hormuz.
Latest situation and economic impact:
Crude Oil: The price of Brent Crude has increased from $70 to $83 per barrel. Inflation: The cost of air freight from Asia to Europe has increased by 45%. Water shortage: The desalination plant on Qeshm Island has been attacked, causing a drinking water crisis. Industrial losses: Four tanker drivers also died in a fire at an oil storage facility in the attacks on March 7-8.
