A Bombardier Challenger 600 plane carrying eight people crashed after taking off from Bangor International Airport in Maine, the US Federal Aviation Administration said on Monday.
The crash happened on Sunday (local time) and the FAA said in a post on Twitter that the information is preliminary and subject to change.
The FAA wrote on
CNN, citing a source, said that the severity of his injuries is not yet known. This aircraft is a Bombardier Challenger 650 business jet.
This is happening at a time when a severe snowstorm is moving towards the US, with temperatures below zero in Maine and visibility reduced to very low due to light snowfall.
The plane is registered to a limited liability corporation in Houston, CNN reported, citing federal records. The airport was closed after this incident.
