In a major action, security forces in Pakistan’s Balochistan province have killed 145 terrorists within the last 40 hours. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed this during a press conference in Quetta on Sunday. This action was taken after coordinated attacks had started in different areas of the province since Saturday morning. This encounter between the army and the terrorists is being considered the biggest security operation in recent years.

The provincial and central governments have taken strict decisions to control the situation. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that ‘mopping-up’ operation is still going on so that the remaining threats can be eliminated. Emergency has been imposed in hospitals of big districts including Quetta so that the injured can be treated immediately.

Mobile service stopped: Mobile signals have been jammed in the affected districts to prevent remote controlled blasts.
Train service halted: In view of security, the movement of trains has been stopped in the entire province.
Zero Tolerance: The government has clearly said that attacks on civilians and government property will not be tolerated.

According to security forces, these attacks were carried out in a well-planned manner. The terrorists targeted a total of 12 towns including Quetta, Mastung, Gwadar, Panjgur and Noshki. The Pakistani government has suspected the involvement of external forces behind these attacks, although India has completely rejected these allegations. At present the bodies of all the 145 killed terrorists are in the custody of Pakistani authorities.
