Kuwait and Britain together have taken a big step to further strengthen the country’s security. In view of the recent threat of drone and missile attacks, Britain is deploying its modern air defense system Rapid Sentry in Kuwait. The British Prime Minister had a detailed discussion in this regard with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The main objective of this system is to protect the important places and oil companies of the country from external threats.

What is Rapid Sentry System and how will it work?
Rapid Sentry is a very advanced defense system specially designed to shoot down drones and low altitude missiles. This system is capable of keeping an eye all around i.e. 360 degrees and as soon as it senses danger, it destroys it in the air with Stinger missiles. Along with this, ORCUS+ system has also been installed there which is expert in locating and identifying enemy drones. British Air Force experts staying in Kuwait are also giving special training to the local security forces to operate it.
When what happened regarding security and what steps were taken?
After the attacks on Kuwait’s electricity and water supply points, the British government had announced immediate help. British Defense Minister John Healy had already informed the Parliament that this system is being sent to protect Kuwait. This will also strengthen the security of the citizens living in Kuwait and the expatriate Indians working there as this system will act as a protective shield over oil refineries and residential areas.
