Big news has come out in the world of cricket regarding the T20 World Cup to be held next year. Taking a tough decision, ICC has expelled Bangladesh team from the 2026 T20 World Cup. It is being told that the Bangladesh team was not able to submit its travel plan on time to go to India. After this news, now Pakistan has also started making up its mind to withdraw from the tournament in support of its neighboring country.
Why was Bangladesh excluded?
The ICC had given Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) 24 hours to confirm the plans to travel to India. According to reports, Bangladesh cited security reasons and missed the deadline. ICC clearly said that there is no security threat in India and due to breaking the rules, Scotland has now been included in the tournament in place of Bangladesh.
What does Pakistan Cricket Board say?
As soon as Bangladesh was out, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) came into action. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has called it injustice and said that Pakistan is considering withdrawing from this tournament. However, the final decision will be taken only after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif returns from abroad. If Pakistan withdraws, it may have to pay a heavy fine.
