According to Iran’s government news agency IRNA, on April 2, 2026, several attacks were carried out near Azimieh area of Karaj. American and Israeli forces are said to be behind these attacks. The Iranian Red Crescent Society has informed that Bridge B1 has been targeted in this attack, which is said to be the highest bridge in the Middle East. There are reports of many civilians being injured in this incident and a lot of tension is being seen in the area.

Bridge B1 is a main highway bridge connecting Tehran and Karaj city. This bridge was started in the beginning of the year 2026 and is considered to be the highest bridge in the Middle East. According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, the attack caused damage to the bridge as well as surrounding structures. Big agencies like IRNA and Fars News had confirmed this attack on April 2 itself. Officials said those injured in the attack have been sent to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Major General Amir Hatami has issued a strict warning after this attack. He has said that if any army tries to enter inside the border of Iran, it will be completely wiped out. President of Iranian Red Crescent Society, Dr. Pir Hossein Kolivan has demanded an investigation by the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding these attacks. Earlier, the Red Crescent Society had said that till the month of March, thousands of civilian targets and homes had been targeted in these attacks. Along with this, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has arrested some people who are suspected of working for foreign intelligence agencies.
