Due to the ongoing tension in the Gulf countries and the closure of Qatar’s airspace, Qatar Airways has further extended the ban on its flights. The airline has clarified that all flights to and from Doha’s Hamad International Airport will now be completely suspended till March 6, 2026. This decision has been taken in view of the ongoing conflict in West Asia, which has affected the travel of thousands of passengers.

How long will the flights remain closed and when will the next update come?
According to Qatar Airways, this suspension of flights will continue till March 6, 2026. The airline said that the next status update will be issued on March 7, 2026 at 9:00 am Doha time (06:00 UTC). The airline has requested passengers not to head to the airport until they get any confirmed information or official information about their flight.
The airline also informed that they are running some ‘relief flights’ to help the stranded passengers. These special flights are being run from Muscat and Riyadh to cities like London, Berlin and Frankfurt, so that passengers can be transported to safe places.
What are the rules for ticket cancellation and re-booking?
The airline has relaxed the rules for passengers who had booked tickets between February 28 and March 15, 2026. Passengers can make free changes to their travel dates or apply for a refund. The change of date facility is valid for 14 days from the original travel date.
Apart from this, India’s Civil Aviation Ministry has also reported that more than 1,200 flights of Indian Airlines have been affected due to this conflict. Etihad Airways has announced the launch of some limited flights from Abu Dhabi, which will connect cities like London, Mumbai and Delhi.
