A very painful accident took place in Chatra district of Jharkhand on Monday evening. An air ambulance plane going from Ranchi to Delhi crashed in the forest, in which all 7 people on board lost their lives on the spot. This plane was taking a sick patient to Delhi for better treatment. As soon as the news of the accident was received, people from nearby villages and the administration team reached the spot, but by then it was too late. The dead included the patient, his family members, two pilots and medical staff.

When and how did this accident happen?
According to reports, this air ambulance took off from Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi at 7:11 pm. Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft lost contact with Kolkata Air Traffic Control (ATC). The aircraft disappeared from radar at around 7:34 pm.
Local villagers said that they heard a loud bang at around 7:45 pm. This accident happened in Kasiyatu forest of Simaria. Initial investigation has revealed that the weather at that time was very bad, there was strong wind and rain, due to which the pilot probably had difficulty in handling the aircraft and this accident occurred.
Identification of those who lost their lives in the accident
The people who lost their lives in this accident have been identified. This includes two pilots flying the plane, the patient and his attendants. The police recovered all the bodies late at night.

The family was going to Delhi for treatment
The patient on board the plane, Sanjay Kumar, was a businessman. About six days ago, there was a fire in his hotel due to short circuit, in which he suffered 65% burns. His condition was critical, so the family was taking him to Delhi by air ambulance for better treatment.
Unfortunately, the weather changed en route and the plane met with an accident. At present the investigating officers are trying to find out whether the accident happened only due to weather or there was some technical fault in the plane.
