Saudi Arabia has welcomed the resolution in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) condemning Iran’s attacks. This resolution was passed unanimously during the 61st session of the Council on 25 March 2026. In this, the attacks on Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Jordan have been considered a violation of international law and human rights.

In this UN resolution, the attacks carried out by Iran have been described as an attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states. The resolution demands that accountability be held for these violations and such incidents are prevented in future. Some important points of this proposal are given below:
Iran has been instructed to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 2817. There has been a demand to stop activities that threaten regional security and stability. There has been talk of compensation and responsibility for the damage caused by the attacks. The right to self-defense of affected countries has been upheld. Attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure have been strongly condemned.
Stance of Saudi Arabia and Gulf Cooperation Council
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said in its statement that this resolution represents the solidarity of the international community. According to the ministry, targeting countries that are not part of the conflict is a serious aggression that cannot be accepted. GCC Secretary General Jassim Mohammed Al Budawi also praised the decision. He said that this decision is necessary not only for regional peace but also for the security of global trade routes and maritime security. Bahrain had presented this proposal to the Council on behalf of Jordan and other Gulf countries.
