He is married to Congress leader Durga Subedi, who was involved in aircraft kidnapping to fund the anti -panchayat movement in 1973.
“He has always maintained high -level honesty throughout his life,” said Bipin Adhikari, Professor and Senior Advocate of Kathmandu University School of Law. He said that in this challenging time, he needs a strong team to lead the government. He said that there should be good people around them to successfully ensure the leadership of the government.
