Kuwait’s army has foiled several air attacks during the last 24 hours while protecting its borders. On Monday, April 6, 2026, missiles and drones coming from Iran were shot down in mid-air by Kuwait’s air defense system. During this attack, there has been news of missile fragments falling in some residential areas, due to which common people have suffered minor injuries and some government properties have also been damaged.

The Defense Ministry has confirmed the shooting down of a total of 9 ballistic missiles and 31 drones. Six people have been injured due to missile shrapnel falling in the northern residential areas of Kuwait. The Health Ministry has said that the condition of the injured is stable and they have been given first aid. Air raid sirens were sounded across Kuwait from midnight to 6 am to keep people alert. Officials have appealed to the public to strictly follow safety instructions and not pay heed to rumours.
Information about damage to property and affected services
Despite stopping the air strikes, some drones and missile fragments have hit important targets. Kuwait Petroleum Corporation has reported huge losses in its operating units. Apart from this, the Ministry of Electricity and Water has said that due to the attack, two desalination plants i.e. plants that sweeten salt water have also been damaged. An Iranian drone also hit a government office complex, causing damage to property there, but the matter of relief is that there were no casualties. These attacks are part of the ongoing tension against the Gulf countries for the last few weeks.
