The Corona virus crisis has slowed down the pace of the entire world. Meanwhile, a big campaign for Indians stranded abroad due to Corona virus has now started. More than 360 NRIs stranded in UAE due to Corona lockdown have returned home. Late on Thursday night, 363 expatriate citizens of India reached Kerala from Abu Dhabi and Dubai on two special flights of Air India.
On Thursday, the first flight of Air India from Abu Dhabi reached Kochi and the second flight from Dubai reached Kozhikode Airport. Let us tell you that the Government of India has launched Vande Bharat Mission for the return home of the migrants stranded abroad, under which they are being brought back home by passenger aircraft and naval ships. While deboarding the plane, many of the passengers were elderly, disabled or children. Many shed tears upon returning home and many were seen wiping tears as soon as they reached Kerala.
Under the ‘Vande Bharat’ mission, the first flight from Abu Dhabi had 181 NRIs, while the second flight had 182 passengers who came from Dubai. Officials said all passengers have undergone coronavirus anti-body tests at the airport before departure and will be quarantined for seven days at a government facility.
On the condition of anonymity, a pregnant woman on the Kochi flight said that I am happy to be at my place. Thank God I will be with my parents during my first delivery. I am grateful to everyone.
Let us tell you that the Home Ministry had said that people with medical emergencies, pregnant women, elderly people and students wishing to return to India due to death of a family member will be given priority and only the passengers will have to pay the travel fare. Based on the registration entries received, the Ministry of External Affairs will prepare a flight or ship-wise database of such passengers which will include their name, age, gender, mobile phone number, place of residence, destination and information on PCR test and its result.
