Demand from Chandigarh SSP for improvement in incomplete FIR and husband’s suicide case
Chandigarh. In the suicide case of IPS Y Puran Kumar, IAS wife Amneet P. Kumar has written a letter to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Chandigarh Police, demanding correction in FIR No. 156 (09/10/2025). Also asked to provide the contents of her husband’s laptop bag. In a letter written to the SSP of Chandigarh, the IAS wife said that she was given an unsigned copy of the FIR, but the names of the accused were not written correctly and it also did not contain the necessary details for the investigation. The names of main accused Shatruji Kapoor and Narendra Bijamia were not included in the complaint.
Officials also said that sections of the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act have been weakly invoked in the FIR. There is a demand to add appropriate legal provision section 3(2)(v). The IAS said in the letter that without the correct names of the accused and the correct sections in the FIR, this case will not be investigated impartially.
Apart from this, deceased Y. Copies of the “final note” of Puran Kumar IPS and the contents of his laptop bag have not yet been given to the complainant. The IAS requested the SSP to provide these copies soon.
In the letter, the IAS has requested the SSP to immediately make corrections in the FIR and provide copies of the final note.
Let us tell you that Y Puran Kumar had committed suicide recently, when his wife was on a trip to Japan with the Haryana CM. Before his death, IPS has named about 15 officers of Haryana and accused them of torture.
