Kuwait’s telecom regulator CITRA has announced a major relief for citizens and residents. All Kuwaiti citizens or expats who are currently outside the country will be provided with free internet and calling facilities. This decision has been taken on March 4, 2026. In view of the ongoing security situation in the area, the government has taken this step so that people can easily contact their families.

Who will get the benefit of free service?
This facility is for all those people who are residents of Kuwait but are currently out of the country due to some work or travel. According to CITRA, this service is being offered by all three main mobile operators in Kuwait:
Roaming subscribers of these companies will get this service automatically. This means that you will not have to make any separate application for this. Its main objective is to ensure that people can talk to their family members without worrying about any roaming charges.
This decision was taken for security reasons
Recently a ‘red alert’ was issued in Kuwait regarding security. According to reports, some air threats (missiles and drones) were intercepted on the morning of March 4, after which there was increased concern among the common people. In this situation, many people who are outside Kuwait were worried about the safety of their families. To reduce this problem, CITRA has announced free communication service.
Apart from this, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOI) has also taken an important decision. For those who are currently outside Kuwait, the duration of their visit visa has been extended from 1 month to 3 months. This decision is a big relief for those who are not able to return immediately due to the current situation.
