Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami gave strict instructions to the officials that all the MNREGA workers of the state should be immediately covered under the Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board. He said that this work should be done on priority basis and any kind of laxity or delay in it will not be acceptable.

The Chief Minister gave clear instructions that at least 5 to 6 lakh workers should be registered under the Board within the next three months. He said that the schemes run for the welfare of laborers will prove to be effective only when maximum workers will directly benefit from these schemes.

Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that it is the responsibility of the Labor Department and Board officials to reach out to every worker and provide them complete information about the welfare schemes and facilities run by the government. He said that many times due to lack of information, eligible workers are deprived of the benefits of the schemes, which is not acceptable under any circumstances.

The Chief Minister made it clear to the officials that there should be no carelessness or laxity in any scheme related to the welfare of workers. All officers should ensure that information about the schemes is conveyed to the Panchayat level and the process of registration of workers is carried out in a campaign form.

He said that the state government is committed to the social and economic upliftment of the laborers. The hard work and dedication of the workers is the real foundation of the progress of the state, and in such a situation it is the responsibility of the government to provide them every possible security, facility and respect.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said, the development of the state is based on the hard work of our labor brothers and sisters. No stone will be left unturned in their welfare. It is not only our aim to bring all MNREGA workers under the welfare board, it is the responsibility of the government.”

A meeting of Uttarakhand Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board (UKBCWB) was held at the Camp Office Chief Minister’s residence under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred a total financial assistance amount of ₹ 11 crore 50 lakh to about 10,000 workers and their families through online portal and DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) for the welfare of construction workers and their dependents registered with the Board.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this is not just a program of transfer of funds, but an opportunity to show respect and gratitude to our hardworking laborers. He said that the state government is continuously making efforts so that the workers and their families can get the direct benefits of schemes like education, health, marriage assistance, after death assistance in a timely and transparent manner.

The Chief Minister said that our labor brothers and sisters are true companions in the development journey of the state. The creation of Uttarakhand has been possible only due to their hard work, sacrifice and loyalty. The government is ensuring that every labor family gets full respect for their hard work and provides a better future to their children. He said that all the schemes run by the Board are now being linked through digital means so that assistance can reach the eligible beneficiaries quickly.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to provide information about all the schemes of the Board to the workers and their dependents from time to time. He said that it is the responsibility of every officer and employee to go among the workers and make them aware of the new schemes and assist them in the process of applying and getting benefits.

Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that workers should also be aware of their rights and should get information from time to time about the welfare schemes run by the Board. He said that the government is a partner in every happiness and sorrow of the workers. Labor and hard work should always be respected, because the future of a hardworking person is always bright.

The Chief Minister said, “Hard work is our strength, unity is our identity. The state government is a partner in every happiness and sorrow of our hard-working laborers. Their welfare is the highest goal of our government.”

The Chief Minister expected all the officers and employees associated with the Board to make every possible effort for the upliftment of the workers and work with dedication to bring positive changes in their lives.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that commendable work is being done by various departments of the state in the field of public interest and revenue increase, in which the mining department in particular has performed excellently. He said that the unprecedented increase in the state’s mining revenue is a clear proof that the government’s new mining policy has been implemented effectively, transparently and vigorously.

Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that today due to transparency, accountability and strict monitoring system in the mining sector in Uttarakhand, there is no possibility of leakage or irregularity anywhere. He said that this policy and methodology of the state has now become a model for other states also.

The Chief Minister said that representative officials of states like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir are also coming to Uttarakhand to study the implemented model in the mining sector and are trying to implement the policies and systems here in their respective states.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Mining Department has proved that with honest intentions, clear policy and strict implementation, remarkable results can be achieved in any field. He said that all departments including other departments, especially the Labor Department, should implement their functions more effectively by learning from the working culture, transparency and discipline of the Mining Department.

The Chief Minister directed the officers to establish similar efficient, transparent and result-oriented systems in their respective departments so that the public can get the actual benefits of the schemes on time and sustainable increase in the state’s revenue is ensured.

Secretary Shri Shridhar Babu Adaki, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar and officials of Labor Department and Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board were present in the meeting.
