Bihar Elections: The political turmoil regarding Bihar assembly elections is not showing any signs of stopping. The nomination process for the first phase of voting has ended, but the issue of seat distribution among the parties of the Grand Alliance is still entangled. The parties that have promised to contest the elections together have fielded candidates against each other on eight seats.
In the eight seats of the first phase, the allies of the Grand Alliance have come into the electoral fray against each other. This situation has not only raised questions on the unity of the Grand Alliance, but the friendly fight has exposed the mutual conflict between the parties. RJD, Congress, Left and VIP, the parties included in the grand alliance, not only released the list of their candidates but their candidates have also filed nominations for the first phase.
Grand alliance parties face each other on 8 seats
But due to lack of mutual consent, they are challenging their own allies on eight seats. In the first phase, RJD has fielded candidates on 72 seats, Congress on 26 seats, Left parties on 21 seats and VIP on 6 seats.
The most interesting situation is of those eight assembly seats, where the parties of the Grand Alliance are fighting among themselves. These include important assembly seats like Vaishali, Rajapakad, Bachhwara, Rosra, Lalganj, Biharsharif, Tarapur and Kahalgaon.
