SpiceJet flight SG 497 from Delhi to Patna had to be brought back to Delhi airport as part of an emergency security procedure minutes after takeoff on Thursday morning. The flight took off from Delhi at 9:41 am, but the pilot decided to return as a precautionary measure after the crew suspected a possible technical glitch.

This flight was operated by Boeing 737-8A aircraft. According to the airline:
The plane has been grounded
Detailed technical inspection is underway
Alternative flight arrangements are being made to send passengers.
The airline said passengers were safe and all procedures were carried out as per standard safety protocols.
⚠️ Second technical incident in two months
This incident has happened at a time when just two months ago, a SpiceJet flight had to make an emergency landing in Srinagar due to a mid-air technical problem. There were 205 passengers and 7 crew members on board that flight.
