Apple recently launched the iPhone 17 series and new leaks have emerged about the upcoming iPhone 18 series. According to a new report from Korea’s The Bell, Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 lineup, which is expected to launch in September 2026, may come with an even bigger upgrade, offering 50 percent more memory than the existing iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Every model will have 12GB RAM
According to reports, the recently launched iPhone 17 series comes with 12GB of RAM, while the standard iPhone 17 still comes with 8GB of RAM. However, reports now suggest that the iPhone maker is planning to equalize the memory capacity of all iPhone 18 models, meaning the regular iPhone 18 could eventually have 12GB of RAM.
According to reports, Apple has reportedly asked Samsung to increase the supply of its high-performance LPDDR5X memory chips, which come in 12GB and 16GB configurations. The company is also in talks with SK Hynix and Micron to buy more RAM for the 2026 model.
New transparent design in iPhone 18
Regarding the design, it is being said that iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max may have aluminum unibody design like iPhone 17 Pro series, but this time Apple is preparing to give a new transparent finish on the back glass for a new look. The standard iPhone 18 may also have a small Dynamic Island.
This iPhone model is expected to have an A20 Pro chip based on 2nm process. It will offer faster performance, better power efficiency, and better on-device AI features. Even the regular iPhone 18 may use the A20 chip based on the 2nm process.
