New Delhi, 6 November (IANS). Today’s lifestyle is such that most people are not able to eat food at the right time.
People eat food after taking out time from their work, and not considering the time of eating. This is the reason why many people today are facing physical problems at a young age.
According to Ayurveda, food eaten on time acts like nectar in the body, while food eaten untimely becomes poison.
The right time to eat food and what kind of food should be eaten has been mentioned in Ayurveda. Breakfast should be taken between 7 am and 9 am, because at that time the sun is slowly moving towards afternoon. As the sun rises, the gastric fire in the stomach increases rapidly. In such a situation, morning breakfast should be nutritious and full of qualities. You can eat cheela, porridge, roasted makhana and poha for breakfast. At this time, the gastric fire of the stomach increases, so all types of food get digested.
Lunch should be taken between 12 noon to 2 pm. Fat, protein and plenty of carbohydrates should be taken in lunch. Be sure to include buttermilk in lunch. Take buttermilk in winter, because it provides relief from stomach related problems like gas formation, less digestion of food and flatulence. There is more tendency of bile in the body in the afternoon. Even the heaviest food can be digested easily. Avoid fried food at this time.
In Ayurveda, the time for dinner is before sunset. Dinner should be taken from 6.30 to 7.30 in the evening. At this time the fire in the stomach slows down and it is advised to eat light food. At this time, one should eat moong dal, soup, porridge or boiled vegetables. It is also good to drink 1 glass of lukewarm milk two hours after eating and one hour before sleeping.
If you change the eating rules, the entire body becomes free from toxic substances, there are no stomach and liver related diseases, the mind remains happy, and sleep is also good.
