Hyundai confirms to launch 26 new models including 8 new hybrid models in India by FY 2030
Hyundai Motor India Limited is preparing to expand its portfolio in the domestic market. The Korean carmaker recently launched the new Venue, which has been far ahead of the Creta in sales as well. Recently the company had revealed its plan to launch 26 new models by 2030, which includes new products, mid-life facelifts and new generation models.
Recently, it was revealed that there are plans to bring eight new hybrid models for the Indian market, three to four of which are expected to be SUVs. Similarly, a new compact electric SUV is also in the pipeline for 2027, which the brand confirmed at its 2025 Investor Day.
First of all, talking about the ICE engine, the Exeter is expected to get a mid-life facelift update next year i.e. in 2026. The next-generation Creta (codenamed SX3) is expected to be launched in 2027 and will likely continue to feature the same old petrol and diesel engine options. Additionally, the all-new Bayon will reportedly launch in India in 2026. This crossover SUV is expected to be powered by a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, which is currently in the works.
Talking about Hyundai’s upcoming electric line-up, a compact electric SUV will go on sale in 2027. According to reports, it will be based on the Inster EV and will be built specifically for the Indian market. Based on the e-GMP (K) platform, this sub-4-metre EV SUV will take on cars like the Tata Punch EV. Additionally, the HE1i (codenamed) will be available in two battery pack options, which will include Level 2 ADAS and an infotainment system with OTA updates.
Hyundai will also focus on hybrid powertrains in its upcoming SUV. The Bayon crossover SUV could be the brand’s first hybrid model in India. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine mentioned above will likely form the basis of the hybrid technology that will also be available in other compact SUVs like the Venue.

The next-generation Creta will also have a strong hybrid powertrain, however, complete details regarding the engine and electric motor are not available yet. We expect it to have a highly localized hybrid setup to keep costs under control. Additionally, some reports also indicate that a new hybrid 7-seater SUV is also in the works. Internally codenamed Ni1i, the three-row SUV will directly rival the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari.
According to reports, Hyundai will also launch the Palisade SUV in the domestic market, which will be considered the brand’s flagship product. This hybrid SUV is expected to go on sale in 2027-2028 and is expected to be priced around Rs 40-50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Palisade will have a 2.5-litre turbo-petrol hybrid engine setup, which will produce 334 hp of power and 460 Nm of peak torque.
