The Congress on Monday attacked the government after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with Chinese President Xi Jinping and accused it of kneeling ‘cowardly bending’ and ‘so -called dragon’. The party also termed Modi’s silence on Pakistan-China juggling during Operation Sindoor.

Congress General Secretary (Communications in -charge) Jairam Ramesh said that India has been accusing China of “double standards” and “dual talk” for a long time.

He said on X, “Now Prime Minister Modi is telling President Xi Jinping that both India and China are victims of terrorism. If it is not to bow down to the so -called elephant in front of the so -called dragon, what else is there?”

Ramesh said, “Even more anti -national fact is that Prime Minister Modi was completely silent in his conversation with President Xi about China’s juggling with Pakistan during Operation Sindoor – which has been revealed by the top Indian Army officials himself.”

The Congress leader said, “The autonomous 56 -inch chest leaders are now completely exposed. He betrayed China on June 19, 2020 by giving a clean chit to China. Now, 31 August, 2025 will also be known as the day of slander for their cowardly behavior in Tianjin.”

India and China on Sunday pledged to increase trade and investment relations to stabilize global commerce, while Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi agreed to deepen bilateral relations to deal with challenges and work towards the “proper” solution of the serious border issue.

The talks between the two leaders discussed several issues, including reducing the Indo-China trade deficit, dealing with challenges like terrorism and ensuring fair trade on multilateral forums.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that in his talks, Modi and Xi emphasized that both countries are development partners, not rivals, and their differences should not change in controversy.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypti said that Modi also mentioned the challenge of cross-border terrorism and emphasized on supporting each other to deal with this problem, as both India and China are affected by it.

Misri said that Prime Minister Modi mentioned the issue of cross -border terrorism as “priority”.

Misri said in a media briefing, “He underlined the fact that it is something that affects both India and China, and hence it is important that we increase understanding and support each other.”

He said, “And I would say that we have received the understanding and support of China as we have to deal with the issue of cross -border terrorism in the context of the ongoing SCO summit.”
