Prime Minister Modi and Chancellor Friedrich Merz promised to strengthen relations between the two countries to jointly tackle global challenges. After talks between the leaders, the two countries signed a total of 19 agreements. It also includes a roadmap for defense industrial cooperation and an agreement on enhancing cooperation in the higher education sector.

India and Germany took a major step towards further strengthening their mutual cooperation in the field of post, express and logistics. India and Germany signed an agreement to enhance cooperation in postal, express and logistics services to promote cross-border e-commerce and time bound international supplies. On the trade and economy front, both sides expressed happiness over bilateral trade crossing $50 billion. Along with this, both the countries have supported the completion of the Free Trade Agreement between India and the European Union as soon as possible so that economic relations can be further strengthened.

In the talks, both the countries also emphasized on increasing cooperation in the areas of technology, semiconductor, critical minerals and innovation. Both countries also reiterated their commitment to further cooperation in renewable energy, green hydrogen and climate action. Both leaders supported free and rules-based navigation system in the Indo-Pacific. Also expressed similar views on global peace and UN reforms.
