New Delhi . Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the Kashi Sansad Sports Competition. The Prime Minister said that the passion and talent of the participants in the competition is helping to empower India and give it a new identity in the world of sports. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the winners and participants of the Kashi Sansad Sports Competition. The enthusiasm and energy of the participants was truly amazing. They showcased their talent and skills very well. I am very happy that this event is playing an important role in giving a new identity to the country in the world of sports. This wonderful initiative has given a strong platform to the youth, where they are winning everyone’s hearts with their ability.” Kashi Sansad Sports Competition is inspired by the Prime Minister’s objective of promoting grassroots level sports. It has been organized by the Varanasi district administration to provide a single platform to rural and urban players. This initiative takes forward the sports heritage of the city. Varanasi is the birthplace of players like Mohammed Shahid, Prashanti Singh, Lalit Upadhyay, Vivek Singh, Sanjeev Singh, Swati Singh, and Vijay Yadav who have made international mark.
Under the framework of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the event promotes participation in specific sports through block and district-level competitions, with the top performers advancing to division and state-level tournaments. The aim of this initiative is not only to identify talent but also to promote sportsmanship, discipline and a sense of pride among young athletes.
Apart from sports, this program works towards the all-round development of the youth.
