CP Radhakrishnan received 452 votes in the Vice Presidential election. Opposition candidate in front of him B.C. Sudarshan Reddy was, who could get only 300 votes. Radhakrishnan was the Governor of Maharashtra before becoming Vice President. After leaving his office, now the additional charge of Maharashtra has been given to Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat. Radhakrishnan’s political career is deeply connected to Tamil Nadu. He is also called “Modi of Tamil Nadu” there. He won the Lok Sabha elections from Coimbatore twice and also took over the party as the state BJP president.
