Jaipur. Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam has conducted intensive vigilance checking campaign in various districts of the state for collection of outstanding revenue and against electricity theft. Under this, illegal transformers which were causing loss to electrical security and corporation revenue were seized in Aklera subdivision of Jhalawar district on Saturday. During this period, action was taken against electricity theft with the help of police force in more than a dozen villages. In which 15 illegal transformers were seized and several kilometers long power lines were opened. These transformers were installed without departmental permission, causing loss to both electrical security and revenue. Under Operation Urja Prahar, Akelera, Ghatoli and Asnavar police station in-charges along with circle officer Akelera were present in the joint action taken with the help of Electricity Corporation and District Police and about a dozen engineers from the corporation side were present. Similarly, in the campaign against electricity theft in Khairthal-Tijara district on Friday, electricity theft was detected at 51 places and a fine of more than Rs 42 lakh was imposed.
A team of 13 engineers from Bhiwadi and Kishangarh base was formed for this campaign. Under the special campaign being run in Baran district to recover the outstanding dues from the consumers, action was taken to remove the transformers of 7 connections due to outstanding bills of more than Rs 21 lakh. Out of these 2 connections deposited their amount.
In Karauli district too, 370 illegal cables were seized on Friday as part of the action against electricity theft. Similarly, action was also taken to recover the dues. An illegal transformer was seized as part of a campaign to recover dues in Bharatpur’s Pahari.
