New Delhi, December 15 (IANS). We pay a lot of attention to our fitness. Go to the gym, exercise. But when it comes to teeth, they become careless.
Remember, oral hygiene is also very important for our body. If our teeth are not in good condition, the stomach and intestines can also get affected, which also increases the risk of mouth ulcers or wounds. Therefore, it is equally important to take care of oral health.
In Ayurveda, Vajradanti plant has been described as a panacea for the health of teeth and mouth. Vajradanti is considered an important medicinal plant in Ayurveda. Vajradanti is beneficial for diseases like teeth, gums, pyorrhea and bleeding. Vajradanti has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, which make the teeth very strong. Vajradanti is derived from the words “vajra” and “danti”, with “vajra” meaning “diamond” and “danti” meaning “strong.” Therefore, in Ayurveda, Vajradanti is considered nectar for oral health. Vajradanti is still used today as a major ingredient in Ayurvedic toothpastes and powders. Some foreign companies also use Vajradanti in their toothpaste.
The leaves, roots, flowers and stem of Vajradanti are also beneficial. These contain anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, hydro ethanol, carbohydrates, proteins, glycosides and amino acids, which are useful in treating teeth as well as other diseases. Vajradanti flower extract is also beneficial in case of swelling and water retention in the body.
It is said in Ayurveda that the extract of Vajradanti flower helps in flushing out sodium by increasing the amount of water in the body. Excess of sodium in the body causes swelling and water retention in the organs. Before using Vajradanti flower extract, please consult a doctor.
If there is a problem of pyorrhea in the teeth or bleeding in the gums, then massage the teeth with Vajradanti powder twice a day and rinse with lukewarm water. If Vajradanti plant is present nearby then the leaves can also be chewed. Apart from this, Vajradanti powder is also beneficial in bad breath, bad breath and weakness of teeth.
